As I sit in my office at this ungodly hour, surrounded by the temporary silence of the factory, I CANNOT overstate how delighted I am to announce that after almost a week of collaboration and around the clock negotiations that last night we were selected as one of the companies to support the “Ventilator Challenge UK” project. In a matter of days we will contribute to having 250 new ventilators sat by the bedsides of Covid-19 patients, in a matter of weeks we will have contributed to a total of 3,750. In our industry it’s always been a 50/50 split between supporting the customer and “getting the order”. I can’t deny it’s great news for me and all of my staff to hear that we’ve received the order, but there’s a completely different feel about this one. This one is 100% about supporting the customer in their efforts to support the NHS and our nations patients, who in the coming weeks will depend on these ventilators 🙏🏼. I’ve been in this industry since leaving school some 31 years ago.....this for me is a real “career high” and it will be a complete privilege to be a part of this national effort.
